Clergy- Leaders of religious groups

Rebellion- a fight by people against; a government; a struggle for change

Humanism- A belief that human actions, ideas, and works are important

 

Tutor- a teacher who teaches one person at a time

Architect- a person who draws plans for buildings

Sculptor- a person who carves statues



Worldly- having nothing to do with religion

Pax Romana- the Roman peace that began during the reign of Augustus Caesar

 



Vaulted- a ceiling that is high, arched, and covers a large space

 

Civilized- having good government and the things that make life easier

 

Imperfection- something that makes an object or person less than perfect

 

Christianity- the religion based on the teaching of Jesus Christ

Week 3-2 Journal Response

If I could have an all expense day, the three people I would bring with me are, my best friend Bella, my sister Ashley that I haven't seen in a year and my dad. We would could do anything but what I would like to do the most is travel back in time and see the day my parents took me home from the hospital, I would go back in time and spend more time with my Oma before she passed away. I would take her anywhere she wanted to go and she could do anything she wanted to do. I would take Bella back to the happiest day of her life just to see her happy. I would go back in time and fix things with my mom so me and my sister were never separated. 

Week 3-1 Journal Response

I don't think I know anyone who has ever been in a natural emergency and I have not been in one myself. If I ever had to deal with that my plan of action is to stay with my family and make sure they are safe, if not everyone knows I would be sure to worn them about what is happening and tell them they need to go to a safe place.

Week 2-4 Journal Response

My dad Isek Stanley has always been there for me, never left me and always knows how to keep me up if I'm feeling down. When I was little he would always tell me I could accomplish anything if I put my mind to it. Every time I didn't believe in myself he would remind me that I am a very strong girl and I shouldn't let other people bring me down. I have a very bad relationship with my mom and I always let that get to me. But that should not be the reason to be doing bad for myself because it is her own fault, and not mine. My dad is my hero and I always know I can count on him!

Week 2-3 Journal Response

What surprised  me most about this TED video is that she is very happy with her body and she inspires a lot of people, she is not scared to show it off, she can wear it as if nothing is wrong. What I love most about this video is how happy she seems with life and she feels nothing can get in the way of what she wants to do, she believes in herself. What inspires me most about this video is that she was offered to model for magazines. A lot of different looks, even a cheetah. She has a dozen different legs and she can also change her height. She is really a inspiration to me.
