Week 2-2 Journal Response

"I have a dream" 50th anniversary

Our nation has achieved so much since 50 years ago, Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech. There are no more slaves in the world. Going into the prisons you would not only see blacks but every other race you can think of. Martin Luther King changed the world forever. You will see black men and white women married, and even the other way around. But sadly the world still judges by the color of your skin. The world isn't perfect, people still see blacks as bad people because they were once slaves, but truth is, they are no different from any of us. They are the ones that will get blamed for a crime by some people even if they had nothing to do with it. One thing I will contribute to that dream is never judge someone by the color of their skin, we are all people, we should all have equal rights.

Week 2 Journal Response

I did a lot of fun things this summer, but if I had to choose it would be going to San Diego with my softball team and family. The purpose of going there is because we qualified for nationals. We had to work really hard raising money. For example, we did carwashes, and also went to other sporting events to sell food and snow cones. Once we got down there we had a blast! The entire team stayed in the same hotel, we stayed up late swimming in the hotel pool but the next morning we had a game so everyone was tired but luckily we won! Right after that we all went to the beach. My favorite part was body surfing. Near the shore my dad spotted a baby shark! But the lifeguard said they are harmless. Later on that day we all went to dinner near LA, we bonded a lot. The next day, we lost our game, got out of the tournament but it was the best vacation.
